COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - On Tuesday, April 20 at 10:00 am, City Council invites the media to join us for the swearing-in of our new and incumbent District Councilmembers. The Ceremony has been moved to the 3rd Floor Courtroom inside the Pioneers’ Museum. Presiding Municipal Court Judge, HayDen Kane, will swear-in our new and incumbent Councilmembers from City Districts one through six as voted on by the public in the April 6th City Municipal Election.

When: Tuesday, April 20th, 2021 at 10am
Where: Pioneers Museum 3rd Floor Courtroom
Who: Newly Elected and Incumbent District Councilmembers

This will be a smaller, socially distanced, ceremony compared to past years. Limited seating in the courtroom and 3rd floor viewing area will be reserved by invitation only. A second viewing area will also be set up on the main floor lobby for everyone else in attendance. The public is encouraged to watch live on the City Council Facebook page. Social distancing and mask wearing will be mandated while viewing in person.

Vermijo Street will still be closed from 8am to 11am for the ceremony. The public is advised to use alternate routes and that parking in that area will be limited. City garages will be open per usual.

Following the ceremony there will be a small reception line inside the Pioneers Museum. Following the reception, City Council will hold a Special Meeting in the Colorado Springs Utilities’ Blue River Board Room on the 5th floor of the Plaza of the Rockies to elect their new leadership.

The date and time of the Swearing-In is set by City Charter.
