City Records under the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA)
Requests should be as detailed as possible including date, type of record, etc. If the document name is unknown, provide brief, but specific description of the document or information requested (note date of issuance and location of the document, if known). A request which is broad, vague, or too voluminous may cause a delay in the time it takes to produce the records.
If the records are available pursuant to C.R.S. 24-72-201 et seq., the records shall be made available for inspection within three working days of receipt of the request. If extenuating circumstances exist, the period may be extended up to an additional seven working days. The requestor will be notified of the extension within the first three days of receipt of the request by the City of Colorado Springs.

CORA Request Fee Schedule
The fee is a nominal charge that is intended to cover a portion of the costs the City incurs in responding to CORA requests. There will be no charge for CORA requests that take less than 2 hours to complete, and involve production of less than 25 pages. CORA requests that take longer than 2 hours of City staff time for the research and compilation of documents will be subject to a nominal charge of $20 per hour, and CORA requests that require production of more than 25 pages will be charged 25 cents per page.
Requestors agree to pay final costs before receipt of documents. An estimate invoice will go out prior to the final invoice to help you prepare for the final costs. The City asks that you pay 50% deposit prior to compilation of records. A refund will be given if the actual cost is less than the deposit.
