In February, the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) welcomed 172,463 total passengers, nearly 20 percent more than the same month last year. The airport also witnessed a 20 percent rise in enplanements as 86,968 people boarded a plane out of COS in February.  For the 12 months ended February, enplanements were up 15.7 percent year-over-year.

“The Colorado Springs community continues to support the growth of air service at COS and, once again, we have started 2024 on a strong note”, said Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation. “We look forward to even more growth as we head toward summer.”

There were 110,323 departing seats for the month of February, a 19.4 percent increase from the same period last year, with an average load factor of 78.8 percent for the month, slightly higher than February 2023.

Air service at the airport has been expanding, with Southwest Airlines announcing the return of seasonal service to San Diego (SAN) and San Antonio (SAT) for peak days in November, December, and January.
