The offramp on U.S. Highway 24 East to Union Boulevard reopens on Friday, June 30 at 6 p.m., after a five-day closure to install signal poles at the bottom of the offramp.
The project, scheduled for completion in July, installs traffic signals at the eastbound U.S. Highway 24 offramp to Union Boulevard. The signals, expected to be operational later this month, will replace a stop sign at the intersection and improve safety, particularly for vehicles turning left to northbound Union Boulevard. In the existing intersection, vehicles turning left to northbound Union had to cross three lanes of southbound Union before merging into the left lane of northbound traffic. The new signal will make this a protected turn movement. The merge from the offramp to southbound Union Boulevard will be unchanged by this project.
