The City of Colorado Springs, in collaboration with Downtown Colorado Springs, is pleased to announce the return of ice skating in Acacia Park (115 East Platte Avenue). Skate in the Park is open to the public Friday, Nov. 10 until Jan. 31. The only outdoor rink in the area, Skate in the Park will host its grand opening celebration at the tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Nov. 17. The rink welcomes an average of 22,000 people each season.

Friday, Nov. 17 (5:15-7 p.m.) Grand Opening event with Tree Lighting Ceremony
This event is free to attend. Ice skating, which includes skate rental, is $10. Ceremony begins at 5:15 p.m., tree lighting at 5:30 p.m., and U.S. Figure Skating athletes will be on the ice at 6:40 p.m. Skating sessions are 4-6 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Food and beverage trucks will be onsite and available for purchase.
Admission is $10 per skater and includes skates. Children 4 and under are free with a paid adult. A $1 discount is available all season for patrons with a valid military or first responder ID. Activities will be offered throughout the season including an opportunity to skate with the Air Force Falcons and Colorado College Tigers hockey teams. Skate in the Park is a program of the City’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department and Downtown Colorado Springs. Supporters include presenting sponsor Academy Bank, gold sponsors Amazon, Colorado Springs Utilities, Metronet and The Gazette, and bronze sponsor the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College. Another partner, radio station Sunny 106.3, will launch its holiday music live with giveaways and more on Nov. 10 from 4-6 p.m. from Acacia Park.
