The Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) was established in 2023. Appointed by the mayor, CDAC will advise on priority funding areas for the Housing and Community Vitality Department’s Annual Action Plan. High priority funding areas typically include homeless facilities and services, affordable housing, and neighborhood investments such as Southeast Colorado Springs and the Mill Street neighborhood.
The Housing and Community Vitality Department looks for broad representation from across the city and volunteers with subject matter expertise on a range of topics, including mental/behavioral health, addiction, housing finance, marginalized and/or underserved populations. There will be opportunities to learn as well as opportunities to help inform the upcoming 2024 Action Plan and 2025-2030 Consolidated Plan guiding the City's use of Housing and Urban Development funding.
Meeting Time: The committee will meet 6 - 8 times annually. Dates and times to be determined.
Membership: Seven members serve staggered terms, who have a background in policy, housing, homelessness, community engagement, and/or a closely related field. Membership should reflect the geographic diversity of the City.
Vacancies: There are no current vacancies.
Please contact Housing and Community Vitality at (719) 385-5912 or communitydevelopment@coloradosprings.gov with questions.
