The City of Colorado Springs and Colorado Springs Utilities will share an overview of its draft annexation guidelines, AnnexCOS, at an open house meeting on Jan. 13. The public is invited to attend the open house anytime between 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the City Administration Building (30 S. Nevada) in Room 102 to view content and provide feedback on the draft goals, policies, annexation suitability zones and more.

AnnexCOS is an effort by the City to fully evaluate its approach to annexations for more fiscally sustainable and resilient land use. The updated annexation guidelines are required under the City’s 2019 comprehensive planPlanCOS.

"Annexation guidelines are important for city leaders so they can better understand how a city can grow,” said Katie Carleo, the City’s Land Use Review Division Manager. “AnnexCOS is one of the steps the City is taking to plan for future growth. We encourage everyone to attend this open house to learn more and provide feedback on the overview of the proposed guidelines.”

The overview of the draft and an online survey will be available on the City website following the open house at ColoradoSprings.gov/AnnexCOS.
