The City of Colorado Springs invites residents and visitors to celebrate National Park and Recreation Month this July in Olympic City USA. This National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) initiative will be recognized locally with free community events and more to celebrate and promote the many park and recreation opportunities here in Colorado Springs.

“Our city is a more vibrant community because of our park and recreation services,” said Stephanie Adams, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services community engagement senior analyst. “We are excited to celebrate Park and Recreation Month in Colorado Springs with a variety of activities for residents of all ages and abilities that are designed to expand engagement and encourage outdoor fun.”

To recognize Park and Recreation Month, a variety of free community events are taking place online and throughout Colorado Springs, including a 2023 calendar photo contest featuring Trails, Open Space and Parks (TOPS) properties, community center pop-up activations, and an outdoor theatre performance at Antlers Park downtown.

For more information, including a calendar of events which will be updated throughout the month, visit ColoradoSprings.gov/ParkandRecMonth.
