  • Trail construction tentative completion

The construction of the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail from the Legacy Loop Trailhead south to Uintah Street is now complete. This project included the installation of a new pedestrian bridge and new concrete surfacing. This trail now provides a more sustainable, accessible surface for all trail users.

In collaboration with Colorado Springs Utilities, nine electrical poles and overhead wires have been converted to underground utilities from Mesa Creek confluence to Uintah Street. Trail development is now underway for the this section of trail with anticipated completion by winter 2024. These improvements will provide for a more user-friendly trail corridor.

This project is funded by the Trails, Open Space and Parks (TOPS) Sales Tax program, Colorado Springs Utilities, the Parkland Dedication Ordinance (PLDO), and the State Implementation Plans (SIP) Program.
