Trails, Open Space and Parks (TOPS)

Tell us why you love our parks and trails! #myTOPS

TOPS has contributed to projects in every quadrant of the city. Open space purchases, like Red Rock Canyon Open Space, are hallmarks of the program. Before Red Rock Canyon was purchased by the City in 2003, it was slated to become a resort community with a convention center, high-rise towers, commercial centers and private golf course. Learn more about how TOPS has benefited Colorado Springs.

Join the Space Foundation for an outdoor Star Party in the trails and open spaces, as we look to the stars and discover the wonders of the universe. “It’s projected that by 2050, Colorado Springs will be the largest city in Colorado with another 150,000 people projected to move here. It is critical that every department in the City is planning ahead for this projected growth. TOPS is critical when it comes to protecting our waterways, the natural beauty of our mountains, parks, and wildlife, and our quality of life.” John Suthers, Mayor of Colorado Springs
