In the month of February, the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) saw a total of 143,884 passengers travel through the terminal, with 72,500 of those passengers getting on a plane at COS.

Mayor Suthers presented Visit Colorado Springs president and CEO Doug Price a Spirit of the Springs award at the Visit Colorado Springs’ annual business meeting. He continues to steward efforts focused on creating sustained economic growth and enhancing civic pride.

Applications for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) are due by 11:59 p.m. on April 14, 2023. Available funding includes the following. $300,000 available for Public Services funding to assist local emergency shelter providers. $100,000 available for rapid rehousing and homelessness prevention projects.
The City of Colorado Springs, in partnership with Comcast, is hosting a “Bridging the Digital Divide” event on Monday, March 20 at 5 p.m. at the Southeast YMCA, 2190 Jet Wing Dr. Comcast plans to award free laptops to participants who recently graduated from workforce development programs from three local organizations which provide workforce training: Community Works - Colorado Springs, Heart to Heart Academy - CNA School, and HSD2 Adult Education, a program of Harrison School District 2.
A new mapping tool on the City’s website will track voter turnout during the 2023 General Municipal Election. Citizens will be able to look at turnout percentages by each council district, or by each voting precinct. Data will be updated each evening. Voters received ballots in the mail this week and must return them by April 4 at 7 p.m. The turnout tracker is on the city’s website at ColoradoSprings.gov/Election.

City Council approved the ConnectCOS transportation plan, the first city-wide multimodal transportation planning effort in two decades. ConnectCOS includes a broad array of recommendations for enhancing mobility in Colorado Springs, including an ambitious and diverse set of recommended projects ranging from sidewalk infill to bus rapid transit to new interchanges that will transform the regional transportation network and greatly improve the accessibility and utility of all modes of travel around the city.
